1919

The club was founded in 1919 by soldiers returning from World War I as Royal Engineers (Ordnance Survey Office) F.C.

1929

Renamed Ordnance Survey in 1929, the club dropped back into local Southampton leagues in 1933–34.

1960

Switched to Sunday League football between 1960 and 1966.

 

1997

Returning to the Hampshire League in 1997–98, Ordnance Survey remained in Division Two apart from one season (1999–2000) in Division One.

2004

With the introduction of a new Division Three in the Wessex League, the club joined that division and finished mid-table in their first season in 2004–05.

2007

AFC Stoneham forged a partnership with Granley Rovers to further the ambitions of the Club striving to bring Wessex League football back to Stoneham Park.

 

2012

AFC Stoneham win their first Southampton Senior cup final beating Bush Hill at St Marys Stadium.

2013

AFC Stoneham retain the Southampton Senior Cup beating Brockenhurst on penalties at St Marys stadium.

2015

AFC Stoneham is accepted into the Wessex League for the 2015–16 season having also won the Hampshire League cup final. The club holds our first ever summer 6-a-side tournament hosting nearly 2000 people over the weekend.

 

2016

The club has 10 teams in total and finishes 8th in our first ever season in the Wessex League Division 1. Our U15s,U16s and U18s all win silverware.

2017

The club creates our first ever Ladies team and our first team finish 8th again in the Wessex first division reaching three cup quarter finals against teams from higher leagues whilst entering the FA Vase for the first time in our history.

2017

The club install brand new floodlights with funding from the Football Foundation. Our new lights are switched on by Mims Davies ,Sports Minister, before we play conference league Eastleigh in a pre-season friendly.

 

2018

The club opens our new Saturday Morning Fun Club, our own Player Development Centre and the new FA Wildcats Centre for girls. In the space of 7 days both our under 12s and 14s win silverware. The first time the club had ever won a trophy at these age groups.

2018

Our first team win 3-1 at Southern League AFC Totton in the semi-final of the Russell Cotes cup to record one of our most famous wins in recent history before losing 1-0 to Wessex League champions Andover Town in the final.

2018

The club finishes our third season in the Wessex League in 5th position whilst entering the FA Cup for the first time in our history. We are the lowest ranked club left in the competition and the famous trophy visits our ground!

 

2019

We lose in the final of the Southampton Senior cup at St Marys. On a historic and memorable night at Totton & Eling, needing a point to win the league, we draw 3-3 having been 3-0 up to be crowned division one champions on goal difference and promotion to the Wessex Premier league for the first time in our history.

2020

We move into our new £10M home in Stoneham Lane vacating our old ground in Chestnut Avenue in October. In our first season in the Wessex Premier League, we sit 2nd when lockdown strikes and the season is sadly made null and void.

2020

We entered the 20/21 season with 61 teams and 720 players which included growth in our female teams from 3 to 13 teams during the summer.

The season was curtailed at Senior level due to covid however most of our junior teams did complete their season playing into May and June.

2021

The 2021/22 season commenced with the club running 76 teams with over 1000 players.

Our first team finished 5th in the Wessex Premier league whilst our Ladies first team finished 4th in the Southern Regional league, their first season at this level.

The club completed one of their most successful ever seasons with nearly 30 trophies being won across all age groups in both male and female football.

2022

The 22/23 season starts with the club having 91 teams across all age groups having grown from 8 teams in 2015. Our first team finish third missing out on promotion by goal difference whilst our Ladies first team have a great FA Cup run finishing runners up in the league.

2023

The club grows to 109 teams for the start of the 23/24 season including for the first time an introduction to Pan Disability football and Futsal whilst also developing all of our boys and girls age group teams. Both of our senior teams finish runners up in their respective leagues with our men losing a play off final for promotion.

2024

We start the 24/25 season with 137 teams, 1700 players and over 350 volunteer managers and coaches.

The club is recognised for the positive effect we have on our local community with visits to both Number 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles. Very proud moments for the club.
