Callum Lee

Callum joined The Purps from Hamble during the summer of 2022 after inspired performances against us during the 21/22 last season. Spent time at both Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth as a youth player.

Has endured a few injuries however has always been top class including an inspired goalkeeping performance at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup last season.

Ross Casey

Ross joined in October 24 due to long term injuries to Callum Lee.

He brings vast Southern League experience from AFC Totton, Lymington and Bashley and is a very good communicator on the pitch.

Another great acquisition to the squad.

Ryan cluett

Ryan was at Southampton FC from aged 10-18 and captained their youth team.

He joined Sholing FC playing regularly in the Southern League before joining Shaftesbury for the 22/23 season.

Ryan joined us in the summer of 2023 and has been a great acquisition and fit for AFC Stoneham.

Ben Clarke

Ben is a big central defender formerly of Colden Common and has been with the club 9 years apart from a brief spell at Alresford. Very quiet but a towering presence in the defence. He won Player of the season in both 2015/16 , 2017/18 and last season whilst having now made over 300 appearances for the club.

Mat Bainbridge

Mat is an Ex-Eastleigh player and joined the club from Totton and Eling at the end of 2017. He has played nearly every game since joining and has always been outstanding.

A very important member of the team and instrumental during our Wessex One Championship season in 2019 whilst now being a senior member of the squad and vice-captain.

ASH WELLS

Ash joined in October 2024 from Southern League Shaftesbury where he captained them to promotion from the Wessex Premier League in the 23/24 season.

Ash played over 300 games for Weymouth over a 10 year period where he was recently enrolled into the clubs “Hall of fame”. He also played at Wimborne and Dorchester Town.

Alex Welch

Alex is our Club Captain and midfield maestro. He is now in his 7th season with the club and has made over 200 appearances captaining the team at St Marys and to our 2019/20 Wessex One championship winning season.

Alex had to have acl surgery in November 2021 therefore missing the season however made a full recovery to start playing again in December 2022 which was like having a great new signing .

He returned in time to captain the side to win last seasons Russell Cotes Cup. Alex will be instrumental to the team and club moving forward..

Jim Orvis

Jim joined the club in the summer of 2021 from Blackfield having previously played at Team Solent and Basingstoke Town.

Jim has proved to be an outstanding signing captaining the side in the absence of injured Alex Welch and becoming joint captain on Welchys return.

Ollie Jenkins

Ollie played for Romsey Town before going to Loughborough University.

On his return to the area Ollie decided to join The Purps in the summer of 23 and has put in many excellent midfield performances since then.

Ash Pope

Ash joined in December 23 from Bashley having played for Shaftesbury for the two previous seasons having scored 20 goals in each season.

As a youth player he was at AFC Bournemouth for 10 years before being released after his scholarship.

Tyrrell Sampson

Forward Tyrrell joined in the summer of 2023 from New Milton having played for Bashley as a youth player and had a great first season.

He has continued his development and excellent form into the 24/25 season and was top scorer for the season as at xmas 2024.

Jamie Johnston

Pacey winger Jamie joined in the summer of 2024 from Southern League Bashley having previously been at Alresford, Hartley Wintney and Wimborne Town.

Owen Fee

The mercurial Owen has good Southern League experience with both Blackfield and Lymington Town for the last couple of seasons.

Many clubs were keen to get his signature during the summer of 2023 and we were delighted to do so. Owen has proved to be a great asset to our forward line.

Lewis Nagle

Lewis joined us in the summer of 2022 from Hamble along with Callum Lee and Jamie Ovington.

A very exciting prospect at 21 who has enjoyed two excellent seasons consistently improving and developing. During the summer of 2024 Lewis seamlessly transformed into a left back from a winger and has been in excellent form this season.

Quite a character and very popular with everyone at the club.

Duarte Martins

Signed from Alresford Town in 2020 where he netted 16 times in his last season. Portuguese born Duarte can play anywhere across the front line and was talismatic in both the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons netting over 60 times in total.

This led to a move to Farnham Town during the summer of 2024 however he quickly returned “home” in October and has been in great form for the club, again, since then.

Dan Thompson

Dan joined us in the summer of 2024 from Bashley and has good Step 4 experience. Dan required shoulder surgery after two games and is only just coming back to full fitness however will undoubtedly be a key player for the remainder of this season and hopefully many to follow.

Stuart Green

Stuart joined in the summer from Shaftesbury having played against us in last seasons play off final alongside another new signing, Ash Wells.

Greener brings vast experience and lists Bognor Regis, Winchester City, Sholing, Salisbury and Bemerton amongst his previous clubs. Whilst with Bognor he reached the FA Trophy semi final v Grimsby Town.

A long term foot injury has curtailed his appearances however after a successful operation an eagerly anticipated return is imminent.

Jake Thomson

JT re-joined the club in a player coach role in November 23 having only left very briefly during the previous summer.

JT played for Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, Forest Green, Torquay, Exeter and Newport County.

He played for England U17 and at Senior level for Trinidad and Tobago including in two world cup qualifiers.

Tom Annetts

Southampton University mechanical engineering student Tom joined us in the summer of 2023 having previously played at Chipstead Town in the Isthmian League.

Tom is a box to box midfielder who can also play at full back making him a very key squad member.
