Under 8’s
The Under 8 Royals had a tough day against a strong Kings Copse side. Henry B and Henry H were on fire in front of goal with some brilliant skills following a sublime pass by Danny. MOTM went to Mikhaile for a solid performance.
The Under 8 Panthers were fantastic today against Oakwood, although we could and should have scored more! Ethan Smith, Rafferty Woods and Harley Sherfield hit the "onion bag". Frank ‘the tank’ Day player of the day with a phenomenal display all over the pitch and taking on board the tips from training. The whole team was fantastic and great to recover from last week's blip. Well done Panthers.
The Under 8 Eagles finished on a draw today against Hythe and Dibden titans. A good competitive game with goals from Harry, Seth and George. Well done Eagles!
Under 9’s
The Under 9 Panthers had a tough game today, especially as it was at a different venue. Some good passages of play and great resilience even with the difficult conditions! The final quarter was where we came alive - excellent pressure, passing and possession play. Millie scored a double to emphasise our final quarter dominance. POTW was Lloyd for his outstanding contribution to a good defensive performance all game long! Well done Panthers!
The Under 9 Spitfires showed a second dominant performance since returning from ‘Lockdown 2’. The boys took control of today’s game by pressing as a unit and working tirelessly off the ball. Slick passing and great play out wide soon found the openings. Two goals from Freddie and one for Charlie saw the boys come out on top. Solid performance from all 8 players, Freddie pipped it to win MOTM.
Under 10’s
The Under 10 Panthers had a disappointing day today. Hoping to dust off the cobwebs still felt from lockdown, we never really got going and were punished by a clinical Sholing side.
Under 11’s
The Under 11 Sharks won 7-0 with goals from Sunny (2), Joel (2), Sam W, Chris and an own goal. Delighted to finish the year with our best performance yet, and a clean sheet. It was great to see everything we've been working on in training show itself on the pitch. Could have been double figures today quite easily, but not complaining. Parents and coaches alike struggled to pick POTM as there were so many outstanding performances, but the parents voted for Iwan and the coaches voted for Chris. Both worked really hard all game and did the right things at the right time as did everyone. Really proud of the team. Well done Sharks!
The Under 11 Panthers put in a marvellous performance in our first game on the new grounds grass pitches. Excellent play all round and overall some immensely good passages of play. Goals from Ethan C (x2), Joe and Joey were some great highlights on a very positive day. MOTM was Ethan C for his goals and taking up a new position in midfield. Well done Panthers!
Under 12’s
The Under 12 AFC Stoneham Panthers 2 - FC Salisbury United. Arguably our best team performance of the season and our first home game on the fantastic new grass pitches at Stoneham. Playing in a changed formation, everyone contributed and played a part. Two great goals from outside the box from Jacob and Teddy. Really pleased with all the players and a nice way to finish the year.
Under 13’s
The Under 13 Panthers won at home to Hamble Club, scoring eight goals in the process. The boys dominated the first half and came in five goals up. There was a bit of a dip in performance during the second half as player positions were shuffled about. Goals came from Will Hosmer, Kunashe Musonza and Max Edwards, all with braces, as well as Brad Chirima and Dan Pearce with a goal apiece. Dan Pearce was voted man of the match after a superb display on the ball and a brilliant strike for his goal, marking a very happy birthday for him!
Under 13 Wolves - A wet and windy day didn't get the better of us today travelling away to a strong unbeaten Winchester team pitch was very boggy making the boys change their style of football. The boys adapted well and put in a good shift today battled hard and got a early lead from Leyton slotting home before the break change of half and wind behind us got Aaron beesley and cracking halfway lob to put us 2 - 0 up before a quick counter attack goal pinned us back 2-1 boys dug in deep and managed to see the win out. A great way to finish a rubbish year!
Under 14’s
The Under 14 Spitfires continued their great form with a 7-1 away win to Hamble Club in horrible conditions on a very heavy pitch. Score a bit harsh on our opponents but the boys were deadly in front of goal. Some great passing and solid defending meant this win was a great team effort. Only have the bare 11 players all the boys battled until the end and thoroughly deserved the win. Goals from Taylor Waters (6) & Samuel Lawrie. POTM went to Yusif Amin who was outstanding and set up 3 of our goals.
The Under 14 Wolves lost 3-1 to Hamble Youth Typhoons in a competitive encounter. We started brightly & had the best of the first half chances. We were awarded a penalty between two other decent chances which Alex Sener scored. HT 1-0. Hamble had much the better of the second half, more possession by far & made that pay with three second half goals. MOTM: Ashton Harrison - captain’s performance. Special mention for Owen Marchant who battled well against a very good Hamble team. Well done to Hamble who deserved the win & we now look forward to Winchester away next week.
The Under 14 United played Whiteley today. Great performance from the team with a 5-0 win away win in treacherous conditions. Goals from George Scappaticci (2), Aaron Crooks, Harry Jones and Stanley Potter.
Under 18’s
US Portsmouth 0 - 4 AFC Stoneham. Scorers were; McCormack, Ngombi, Lamb and Ramos. A superb performance from every player involved. Hard work, grit, togetherness across the full duration of the game. Some nice passages of play which led to some brilliant goals. Godwin pulled off some great saves when called upon to keep the clean sheet intact. Two U16s Brown & Godderidge were involved and did really well when they came on. The boys and parents were delighted to see the first team. Manager Mick Marsh watching our future first team stars.
