Youth Round Up - 24th November 2019

Our round-up of junior matches 24/11/19 as compiled from information sent to Purple Towers.

Under 8’s Spitfires has a great result today. Another strong team performance showing fantastic effort. MOM George Bushell.

The U8 Panthers had a tough game this morning, but put in an excellent performance! Some great goals from Eddie and Henry as well as some good pressing all around. MOTM was Jamie as nominated by the opposition for his awesome saves.

U8 Royals had another strong performance again today. Despite the wet & muddy conditions, they tried to play football. Goals from Alfie L, Adam, Micah, Archie & a superb volleyed goal for Bertie. Man of the Match was Archie.

U9 Jaguars had an outstanding day. Player of the match was Freddie. Well done Jaguars.

Under 9 Panthers had another excellent game today. Pleased to keep a clean sheet. Mom Benjamin Brown for being defensively solid.

Under 9 Lions are back on track. Hard fought result today. Special mention to the boys who went over to the other team to even up the numbers as the opposition only had 6 players. Great show of fair play and respect. Nathan Chen man of the match.

U10 Spitfires had a close game with Pace Tigers in a cracking game. Boys were amazing and some excellent football played. Goal scored by Harley Marjason after some 1 touch passing. POM went to Harley Marjason for not only his goal but covered every part of the pitch. Solid performance.

The Under 10 Panthers played well against Windsor today, the same team we played last week. Fantastic team performance and an excellent goal from Ethan C, as well as some brilliant passing and pressing. MOTM was Ethan H for his awesome tackles and work rate.

U12 Royals had a home loss after taking the lead twice. Unfortunately, the weather got the better of them and Whiteley finished strong. Goal scorers were Bailey Middleton and Ollie Brading. Special mention to Rex who did a fantastic job in a muddy goalmouth who made some great saves. Also big thanks to Stefan and Sam for their support today.

U12 Panthers continued their Tyro cup run with a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Hiltingbury Harriers. Scorers were Will Hosmer and Max Edwards. Max was voted man of the match by the players. Would just also like to share that the U12 Panthers received 100% respect scores in both on and off the pitch conduct. Fantastic!

U13 Spitfires lost 4-0 to Hamble Spitfires. Hard on the boys as played well with some great chances to score but just wasn’t to be. POM went to Harvey Kane for some solid defending (he normally plays upfront or on the wing).

U13 United were away at Lakewood and the boys didn’t disappoint in their new kit with a fantastic winning performance that ended 7-1.

Goals from Aaron Golding (3), Harry Jones, Harry Hallet, George Scappaticci and Ryan Pratt scoring his first goal this season on his birthday capped off a great performance from the lads!

Going into the halfway point of the season at a point where Ryan’s goal now means that every single one of our 13 outfield players have scored this season already means we are exactly where we need to be in line with our team philosophy of players playing in multiple positions to have a better understanding of the total game of football. Well done boys.

U14 Galaxy despite improving through the game lost 4-2 against Sholing White. Man of the match Ali Djeli scored a beauty and Sam Smaili added from the spot.

Rovers U15 drew 1-1 away to Sholing Red having been in control of the game after letting a lead slip. Scorer: Sam Charman. Man of the Match: Sam Charman.

U16 AFC Stoneham Utd 3 - 0 Wyvern Reds. Scorers Kevin Ngombi x2 and Carlos Gregory x1

A spirited performance with some good football in the final third. Superb save from Ben Godwin when the game was at 2-0.

Sarisbury Green 3 U16 panthers 0

Our ladies had a good 2-0 win at Fleet Town with goals from Abbie Awdas & Kirstie Porter-Smith. MOTM Ali Floyd-Barrow.

Some great results today especially the super U9 Jaguars.

Our teams of the day though are awarded to two of our teams who have displayed outstanding sportsmanship today. U12 Panthers and U9 Lions.

Our U12 Panthers have been awarded a 100% Respect mark season to date for conduct both on and off the pitch.

Our U9 Lions, aware that the other team had a player short, played with the same number of players and/or completed a "quick transfer" to ensure both teams had equal numbers. A fantastic sporting gesture.

We love to win but respect, great sportsmanship and fair play are great attributes which will last a lifetime with our young players. Well done to all of our young teams on another great "Purple weekend"!
