AFC Stoneham will look to end top of the table’s unbeaten record as they travel to AFC
Portchester on Saturday 3 rd December with a 3pm kick-off.
AFC Portchester:
Nicknamed the Royals, Portchester play their home games at the Onsite Group stadium
under manager Dave Carter.
They have had an incredible unbeaten start to the season, winning 15 out of 16 matches,
sitting comfortably at the top of the table on 46 points.
Their most recent game was a 4-2 win away from home to Brockenhurst, courtesy of goals
from Da Costa, Jones (x2), and Pitman.
Brett Pitman, former Bournemouth striker, is the league’s top scorer with 29 goals in 20
games, meaning that Stoneham’s defence need to be on top form to stop the former
Championship player.
AFC Stoneham:
Stoneham come into this game off the back of a hard-fought cup win against Division One
side Petersfield Town.
The game on Wednesday was played in tough, foggy conditions and needed penalties to
find winner, with Stoneham coming out on top 5-4.
Stoneham are currently 5 th in the league and will look to take points off the league leaders
to climb up the table, but they know it will be a tough task against a free-flowing
Portchester side.
The Purps top-scorer Duarte Martins will certainly be looking to add goals to his tally this
Saturday and chase down Portchester’s Brett Pitman in the race for the golden boot.
