AFC Stoneham host Division One side Petersfield Town in the Russell Cotes Cup on Wednesday 30th November with a 7:45pm kick-off.
AFC Stoneham:
Stoneham come into this game off the back of a hard-fought 4-2 home win against an improved United Services Portsmouth side last Saturday.
Goals from Clarke, Bulpitt, Orvis, and Cleary were enough to seal the victory for the Purps and help maintain their good form, which they will hope to take with them into the cup.
They faced another Division One side in the previous round of this tournament, sweeping aside Fleet Town 4-1 at home courtesy of goals from Callaghan, Evans, Hills and Martins.
However, they know it won’t be an easy task against an in-form Petersfield side, who got the better of Stoneham in their last meeting.
Petersfield Town:
Nicknamed the Rams, Division One Petersfield come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Totton &Eling.
They currently sit 4th in their league and are experiencing a great run of form, being unbeaten in seven games in all competitions.
The previous round of this cup saw them beat title contenders Andover New Street 2-0 away from home, thanks to goals from Greenough and top scorer Barsa, who has eight goals this season.
The away side will look to take their league form into this cup match and cause an upset by defeating a team in the league above them and seal their place in the next round.
