A superb result for our ladies reserves on Sunday who reached their first ever cup final!
They defeated Millbrook Ladies 5-3 in todays semi final who had only lost once this season before today and had previously drawn with and beaten our girls.
Another great indication of the progress made this season with a squad of predominately 17 and 18 year olds under the leadership of the experienced management duo of Rees and Neil. Manager Rees Pake said “I have been absolutely delighted with the progress the girls have made this season, their first ever in Senior football. The Millbrook game, more than any, illustrates this progress against an experienced side who will probably win our league.
Millbrook have already drawn with us and beat us earlier in the season but the progress could be seen today in the way the girls were far more able to compete on a physicality and speed level with a strong team which was not always so evident in the earlier part of the season.”
The girls have climbed the second division of the Hampshire County Womens league and currently sit second whilst being hopeful of gaining promotion to the top division for next season.
Well done girls on a fantastic result!!
