Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.
The club is delighted to be supporting the Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.
We hope to build a close relationship together and support the association within the local community. Our U14 Lions have been the first to highlight their great work by proudly wearing the logo on their new shirts. Club Mascot and ambassador, Orla, is shown in her new shirt alongside the U14 Lions team photo. The charity is brilliant and helps families all over the region. They provide support and education services for children with Down Syndrome and are a vital resource for families.
They were a driving force in the creation of the Down Syndrome Act which was signed into law in 2024, protecting services for families for years to come. They also provide training directly to both schools and NHS maternity units free of charge to make sure children are coming into a world that they can thrive in. Fund raising has been difficult for charities over the last few years following covid and then cost of living concerns so raising awareness is more important than ever.
AFC Stoneham hope to work closely with the association to raise their profile and have a positive effect on young children's lives.
Thank you
