SUNDAY ROUND UP
U9 Royals had a slow start to their match but picked up pace and energy as the game went on. The defence was again solid with Harrison again stepping up into goal, Noah and Owen picking up the few attacks that got through and allowed our team to push forward. The midfield battle was tough and our team stood up to some forceful challenges, with Nate finding invisible paths through 3 tackles. Marcus played in some decisive balls setting up Tuula, Jake. Purps of the match go to Tuula and Jake for making space and superb finishing. Well done Royals !
The Under 9 Panthers put in a very solid performance today against tough opposition. Some great passing play and creative runs saw us score some brilliant goals. A huge amount of effort was shown by everyone involved which payed off in the end. Goals from Henry (x2) and Stephen (x2). POTW was Henry for his excellent goals, passing and overall effort. Well done Panthers!
Under 9 Spitfires continue to march on. The boys were up against it today as they played a very good Pace side. The game started quickly and the class from both teams stood out. The spitfires dug in and found themselves 1 by an unlucky OG. Josh was strong in goal, defenders Joey, Adam and Jenson put in a solid shift. The caretaker in midfield AKA Forbes swept everything up. Fred’s and Bushy terrorised the defence out wide and Charlie worked his socks off up top. Bushy hit a brace including a free kick from the halfway line!! Freddie found the net once. Great team performance which saw all the boys collect MOM for the 3rd week running!!
U10 Royals
Played one out best games of the season today, the whole team put a great shift in for the whole game,
Some lovely attacking moves today from Mally who scored 2 goals today unlucky not to get more and a goal from Ben who also provided an assist.
Motm was Mally
Well done Royals
U10 Tigers
Following a very challenging fixture against Littleton, the Under 10 Tigers managed to put in a really hard-fought performance. Whilst goalkeeper Jack Binns made some superb saves at one end, goals from Mustapha Suso, Kristof Hollosy (x2) and Louis Howard ensured the boys were rewarded for their efforts.
The performance is a testament to the team's resilience and continued belief - Louis Howard picked up MOTM for an overall outstanding attacking and defensive display.
The Under 11 Panthers had a tricky game today but did show glimpses of brilliance. Some incredibly good passing play, along with strong and powerful runs, lead to some fantastic goals. Goals today from Ethan C (x2). MOTM was Sam for his brilliant runs and amazing effort throughout. Well done lads.
U11 Spitfires got a good 1-0 win away to Littleton. The effects from yesterday’s game against AFC Bournemouth Youth Talent Centre had took its toll as energy levels not quite as high as normal but a superb team effort from all the boys got them the win. Superb defending when required and a cracking save from Miles towards the end (although was the only save he made but reliable as always). Goal scored by Oliver Drew wiv a looping lob from outside the box. POM went to Charlie Gray who was excellent and even got complimented by our opposition manager.
U13 Royals
After a disappointing result last Sunday, the Royals had the opportunity to have another go against Totton in the home leg. A positive start saw us quickly go 2-0 up and we’re 3-1 at half time. After a few position changes from us and a change of pace from Totton we found ourselves at 3-3. We managed to regain our shape and composure and went on to seal the victory with 65th minute goal that trickled over the line.
Goal scorers were Bailey Middleton x2, Daniel Wrycraft and Harry Noel.
MOM went to Danny Logan at CB, Danny didn’t let one the leagues top goal scorers get a sniff of the ball.
U13 Panthers earned a dominant 4-0 victory against Netley Royals. During the first half, the boys had great shape and produced some great combinations in play, and made a breakthrough after Max Edwards was released to open the scoring. Shortly afterwards Brad Chirima scored his first of the afternoon following a brilliant team move. The same direction of play continued during the second half, and Brad added another goal, and eventually Will Hosmer was released to score the final goal of the game. The boys voted Aaron Loader and Kunashe Musonza as players of the game. Aaron for his solid work in defence, and Kunashe for running Netley ragged in midfield.
U13 Knights completed their last Tyro fixture with an away defeat to Hamble Spitfires. At the end of the first half we were 1-0 down having conceded a penalty. The final result was a 6-0 loss. MOM was Ben. Despite a difficult set of fixtures post the most recent lockdown we are pleased to be guaranteed 3rd in the Tyro Division 1.
U14 Spitfires had a frustrating game where nothing seemed to click against St Francis Rangers who have just won our league wiv a 100% record. We created chances but just couldn’t find the back of the net in our 1st game we have failed to score in all season. POM went to Jack Polkinghorne who was excellent all over the pitch and never gave fighting for every ball. We go again in 2 weeks when we could finish 2nd with a win in what has been a good season.
Under 14 United took on a well organised and hungry Worrhys side who were playing their last game looking for a win. With our boys looking to keep their unbeaten season in tacked they found it hard to shake off off the persistent pressure worthys put them under, but with great grit, determination and togetherness they won the game 2-1 with goals from George s and Aaron c.
Ladies Development
Another 6 points bagged as our Ladies Development won both games in a double header at Bursledon Ladies Reserves.
The Purps took the first game 5-2 with goals from Leah W x 2, Katie S x 1, Wicky W (pen) and Kayden W.
The second game was a more even game with the Purps finally running out 3-1 winners. Goals from Leah W x 2, Katie S x 1
Well done to all of our teams on another superb set of results. !
