AFC Stoneham return to league action following midweek success in the cup as they host
United Services Portsmouth on Saturday 26 th November with a 3pm kick-off.
AFC Stoneham:
Stoneham come into this game off the back of a hard-fought 3-2 victory on Tuesday night
against the 10 men of Brockenhurst.
Once the pitch passed the inspection from the referee, goals from Ockwell, Martins and
Dyer were enough to seal the victory and send Stoneham into the next round of the Wessex
League Cup.
Stoneham currently sit 5 th in the league, with games in hand on those above them, so three
points would help strengthen their position as they try to climb the league table.
However, they will be without Jamie Ovington and top goal scorer Duarte Martins for this
game due to suspension.
United Services of Portsmouth:
U.S Portsmouth were formed in 1962 with the intention of enabling navy players to play
competitive football at the highest level possible.
They gained promotion to the Wessex Premier League in the 2020/21 season and play their
home games at HMS Temeraire under the manager Frazer Quirke.
They currently sit 15 th in the league and come into this after a 5-0 thrashing of bottom of the
league Alresford, with all five goals being scored by different players.
U.S Portsmouth have won 3 of their last 5 matches, with 20 goals being scored across these
games, suggesting that Saturday’s clash might be a high scoring one.
