AFC Stoneham vs Bournemouth Match Report: -
A late second half goal once again scored by Duarte Martins was enough to give Stoneham the three points and secure the win on Tuesday night. A resourceful Stoneham battled hard on Tuesday night against a difficult Bournemouth side, but their patience was well worth the wait as once again Duarte Martins was the hero and won the game for his side. One change was made as Adam Pattison comes in for Cade Dyer who picked up an injury in Saturdays game.
Stoneham kick off the first half at Clayfields (Hythe & Dibden), and start off on the right foot when Nathan Clements finds himself in space on the edge of the box, he shoots but the keeper gets down and saves. Another chance comes to rise when Lewis Nagle plays the ball in from the left-hand side, it meets Duarte Martins who finds himself in space he shoots but the keeper saves. Stoneham are playing brightly and deservedly should be in front but Bournemouth are proving to be difficult as they are defending us very well. In the 36th minute a ball is played through to Duarte Martins, he gets the slightest of touches but it's not enough and goes wide. Just before half time Stoneham have the chance to go in front when Ryan Penny wins us a free kick on the edge of the box, Jamie Ovington takes, he shoots but it takes a deflection on the way and it goes well over the crossbar. Duarte Martins wins us another foul 30 yards out, Jim Orvis takes Martins meets but the keeper saves.
Stoneham are fighting hard against a solid defence and should of put away our chances, but they go in at the break level with Bournemouth.

Second half gets underway curtesy of Bournemouth, Stoneham continue to fight to find the winning goal. 14 minutes we have our first threatening chance of the second half when Lewis Nagle from the right-hand side plays the ball into the box Duarte Martins meets and heads it but it goes over the crossbar out for a goal kick. Another chance sees once a again Lewis Nagle power through defence, plays a ball across the box towards Duarte Martins, he narrowly misses and goes out of play. In the 63rd minute Stoneham make their first change of the game when Nathan Clements comes off and Scott Hills takes his place. Scott Hills has his first chance in the game, which could have ended up with a goal, the ball gets played into the box Jim Orvis heads it down to Hills he shoots but he slices the ball and it goes wide.
The pressure and determination paid off for Stoneham as in the 72nd they finally got the goal they deserved. Jim Orvis beats the defender on the right-hand side and goes through on goal, he plays the ball across to Duarte Martins who finds himself in space, with his first touch he half volleys it into the back of the net and scores his 15th goal of the season so far. Just after the goal Stoneham make their second substitution of the evening which sees Ryan Penny come off due to injury and Isaac Evans come on. Duarte Martins has the chance to make it 2-0 when the ball is played through to him, he shoots but his shot is right at the goalkeeper. 86th minute sees Lewis Nagle come off and Jamie Bulpitt come on. However, in the 88th minute we do have the ball in the back of the net curtesy of Scott Hills but the flag goes up for offside and it disallowed by the referee. A great and well fought performance by Stoneham sees them come away with the 3pts against a solid Bournemouth side.
