Club round up - Sunday Sept 27th

Sunday Round up

Under 8 Eagles battled hard today against Pace youth pumas. Unfortunately the result wasn't the one we would ideally have wanted but saw two fantastic goals from George. Well done Eagles

AFC Stoneham U8 Spitfires had another awesome team performance from the boys today, against a spirited St Francis team. Big shout to our keepers Jack & Rueben and defenders Riley & Jacob for helping to keep another clean sheet.

Dylan Down , Alfie Holmes ,Tom Robinson , Reuben Lombard ,Jake Clemons and Jack Dyed were all electric in front of goal on numerous occasions.

MoM Tom Robinson.

U8 Royals had a tough day v Whiteley Wanderers. MOM went to Henry after a great all round performance. Special mention to Danny and Ethan who had good games on their debuts. Also to Noah who just missed the target after a brilliant solo run.

U8 Panthers had a storming game. Excellent displays from every player. Nice to see different goal scorers too! Harley S, Harley M, Dexter, Ethan, Carter, Frank and Rafferty all hitting the "onion bag". Man of the match goes to Rafferty Woods for an excellent display in midfield, running with the ball, passing, shooting and general positioning all on point today. Well done Panthers!

U9 Royals in their 4th game as a team took an early knockback, but persevered improving with each quarter. Harrison stepped up to the mantle of goalkeeper, Noah led the charge at the back, with good positional play from Harry and Tuula. Man of the match goes to Nate for his effort in pressing, tacking and making some incisive runs.

The Under 9 Panthers had a difficult test this morning. Some good play in some parts of the game but a few small moments where lack of pressing cost us. A good performance however, and some brilliant highlights. POTW was Harrison for his non stop running and great defensive blocks. Well done Panthers!

U10 Jaguars had a close game completely bossing the first half and should have been home and dry with lots of missed opportunities. 3rd quarter let us down today conceding 2 goals quickly after one another.

The lads were persistent and unlucky to not get a result in the 4th quarter but just one of those days where we couldn’t find the back of the net! Motm was Isaac who did a solid shift in defence against a good side!

U10 Panthers had a very close game which on another day would have been a different result . We weren’t really up to pace today but kept battling right to the end. Finlay Ashton, Abllaye Jallo and Jacob Pinder were on fire in front of goal. Man of the match was Josh Jervis for some great tackling, direct running and some excellent passing. Well done Panthers and we go again next week.

U10 royals had a tough match and were out of luck .

Mally did a good solo run and shimmy with a good finish from inside the box . Motm was Arthur

U11 Spitfires had a disappointing game v Baddesley Park Knights. Unfortunately the boys had an off day where nothing seemed to click and were 2nd best all over the pitch. Credit to the opponents who played some nice football. Positives from the game was a good debut for Charlie Gray and some great saves by Miles Earnshaw who was complimented by an opposition parent and awarded POM. We move on and rebuild for next week.

U12 Hurricanes

We won 3-1 against Baddesley Park. Great team performance everyone played really well together and we were in control the whole game creating great link play with plenty of movement and communication.

Goal scorers were Ashton with two and Harry.

Mom was harry, great on the ball moving into space and passing the ball up through the pitch creating plenty of dangerous attacks.

U13s Knights suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss away to Hamble Jets in the Tyro League. We went 2-0 down following a wind assisted opposition goal & a penalty before Will (53’) drew one back with a chipped shot over the goalkeeper. Man of the Match was Adrian.

U12 Harriers played today against a good Alresford team and won 2-1

Alresford started well & took a early lead against the run of play, the boys bounced back and played some great attacking football and created lots of chances and got two well deserved goals before half time.

2nd half we again started well and controlled the ball & we were unlucky not to increase our tally further but for some good defending by Alresford.

Shout out to the defence - Max, Jack, Charlie, Luke & Arlo who all had solid performances.

Scorers- Caleb another worldy & Billy - poachers finish.

Mom - went to Jack who showed good composure on the ball & great distribution out from the defence.

U13 Wolves v U13 Panthers

Very tough game today and by no means pretty however boys controlled the game well and did exactly what was needed from them to grind a 2-0 win at our local AFC Stoneham derby. Boys played well with a massive game play change up to deal with our opposition playing with great discipline and we know where we can improve however a fantastic win for the wolves today very much deserved.

Set pieces was key today with outstanding deliveries first goal came from a free kick beautifully delivered for leyton Reed to tuck away before a perfect corner delivered straight onto a stunning header from George Bufton doubled our lead before boys dug deep and kept another clean sheet.

Mom went to luke davey for a fantastic performance at left back with a last minute change due to sickness.

Very proud of all the boys today everyone played there part in order to to walk away with the 3 points

AFC Stoneham United U14 won 4-2 at home today against a strong Hamble side. Good football played from both sides. Goals came from Finley Gateshill, an OG and

Stanley Potts (2)

U15 Rovers played previously unbeaten FC Bobcats and won 3-2. With better finishing the game would have been over a lot quicker. Goals from Billy Brackley, Sam Macleod and Zac Balcombe-Betts who from a yard out stole the goal from Man of the Match Tom Clark’s free kick from just inside his own half. Happy faces all round.

Our U18 United lost 2-0 to Brockenhurst whilst U18 Panthers lost 4-1 .

U16 Rovers lost 4-1 to Winchester City however to finish on a big positive our Ladies Development squad won their first ever game together in the league 5-0 away at Bedhampton. Well done Ladies!
