AFC Stoneham are on the road for the first time in four games as they travel to the Draper Tools Community Stadium to take on Moneyfields on Friday 17th February.
Moneyfields:
Playing all home games on a Friday because of ground sharing, the Money’s will look to continue their solid home form as they take on a Stoneham side who don’t travel too well.
Due to playing their first 13 games of the season away from home, Moneyfields have had a run of home fixtures, with eight out of their last nine being at the Draper Tools Community Stadium.
In this period, they have picked up 15 points and scored 24 goals, showing why teams don’t want to come here and why they sit in a solid fifth position in the table.
Their top scorer is former Stoneham man Callum Laycock on 23 goals, who will look to add to his tally and get closer to his former strike partner Duarte Martins on the scoring charts.
AFC Stoneham:
The Purps come into this game off the back of their best result of the season, beating league leaders Portchester 2-1 and subsequently ending their 23-game unbeaten run.
Goals from Duarte Martins and Liam Callaghan won all three points, meaning that Stoneham have still won every game at home in the league this season.
However, Stoneham’s away form is a juxtaposition to their home results, failing to win on the road on their last three occasions, something that could lengthen when they come up against strong team with a good home record.
The Purps need to take their home performances on the road with them if they want to challenge at the top, with points on the board being essential as Horndean and Bemerton have games in hand to close in on them.
