Millbrook vs AFC Stoneham match report:
Stoneham made a return to league action on Tuesday night with a 1-1 draw away
against Millbrook.
Stoneham had the first two efforts of the game as Lewis Nagle latched onto a quick
free kick before turning back to Alex Welch who had two shots from the edge of the
area blocked before winning a corner.
Jamie Johnston had a good chance two minutes later as he received the ball from
Jim Orvis on the right hand edge of the box before driving the ball over the bar.
Millbrook responded quickly chance wise as a cross from the right hand side saw
Connor Ford have a header saved from point blank range.
Stoneham soon had a further scare as 6 Ben Clarke had to clear a looping header
off the line.
The next chance went the way of Stoneham as Mitchell Speechley Price headed a
ball down from a cross and Stuart Green was only able to turn wide.
Stoneham soon made it 1-0 as Alex Welch played the ball out wide and Jamie
Johnston cut inside and turned home on the half an hour mark.
Stoneham registered a very good chance just before the half time whistle as Mitchell
Speechley Price turned the ball into Stuart Green who saw his shot saved from point
blank range.
Millbrook had an early chance at the start of the second half as Bobby Gorman put in
a cross which was delivered well onto the head of Connor Ford who headed
agonisingly wide.
Jamie Johnston had a free kick for The Purps soon after however his shot was just
shy of the right top corner of the net.
After a fairly large tame period in the second half Stoneham had a pivotal chance as
the ball trickled through to Stuart Green but he was unable to convert from the 1 vs 1
situation.
Millbrook had a late equaliser that broke Stoneham hearts as Cain Prentice latched
onto a free kick to smash home three minutes from time.
