Sunday 27th March round up

Sunday Round Up

U8 Panthers

Excellent game today boys. After the last 3 disappointing results, we really needed to get back to winning ways, and boy, didn’t we respond well. Goals galore. A total dormant performance. I don’t think they could cope with our high press and general organisation. David pulled of some great saves in goal, with some brave diving at their feet. Oliver and James defended well today, against some strong attackers.

Ollie and Harry was great in midfield and attack and both managed to get on the scoresheet. Henry was excellent in midfield controlling play, with some lovely diagonal passing and also scored a goal. Lucas was terrific today, up and down the pitch, tackling and passing. And all that hard work paid off with 4 goals. But my man of the match went to the ‘goat’ Jenson. His energy, workrate and determination was outstanding. He bagged himself 6 goals today with one of them being a glancing headed goal!! Well done Jenson. Well done everyone today. You thoroughly deserved your haribo win bonus!!

U8 Spitfires

U8 Spitfires were excellent today in a physical game against Winsor and got back to winning ways. Alfie Bungay was a handful today and got himself the matchball as was deadly in front of goal. Brody Hibberd was lethal in front of goal too and Henry Polkinghorne scored from the half way line. POM was a awarded to our super supporting Mums (pic attached) today as it’s their day and the boys won for them but special mention must go to Alfie Bungay who was amazing.

U9 Royals vs Romsey Town Tigers

The Royals were on top form today, and put up their most impressive team performance this season. Oakley and Lucas were a driving force down the wings taking players on for fun and putting some great crosses in to the box. Dexter, Dan and Jafha all had solid games in midfield and controlled the game. Although the lads were on fire going forward, Leo had to be a rock at the back putting in some big tackles to deny Romsey. The Romsey attack was also on great form and would’ve scored more if it wasn’t for Archer making brilliant saves, the highlight being a low save down to his right that everyone thought was in! Goals came from Jafha, Leo and and Hat-trick hero Mikaile who was excellent in front of goal, even scoring one with his face!

A great game to watch and and unbelievable performance, well done boys

U10 Jaguars

Wellow warriors vs AFC Stoneham Jaguars u10’s

With only 7 players available today we knew we would have to adjust our shape to suit our team.

1st quarter

The Jaguars went off like a steam train,

With Egit scoring a quick goal.

Wellow came back at us but with our new defender Billy blocking, tackling,

And just in complete control at the back made it hard for them to really have any changes.

2nd quarter

More of the same.Alex running his socks off all around the pitch I don’t think there was a position he didn’t play in today, he also saw himself on the score sheet with a solo run and a tidy finish.

3rd quarter

We was in complete control of the game passing our way around the pitch, we made some really good plays and got our rewards with billy setting up a fantastic team move.

4th quarter

Wellow pushed us hard but we we do what we do best and shut the door. Our captain Alex battling for every ball never giving up.

Well done Jaguars 5-2 win

U10 Spitfires

A 1-1 draw today between two teams who played some good football despite the poor pitch. The Under 10 Spitfires went one nil up early with a long range effort from Bushy. Totton and Eling then had the better of the first quarter. After a good goal from Totton the Spitfires settled and nullified the away team’s attack. Both teams had chances throughout the game, with both keepers playing well. A couple of battling performances from Charlie and James stood out, with Charlie getting MoM for tracking back and making some strong tackles. Overall a good game to watch with both teams doing well to control the ball and continue to try and pass the ball on a bobbly pitch.

U11 Panthers

U11 Panthers had an excellent game today, against tough opposition who proved difficult to break down. Despite a positive result we spurned several chances to make it far more comfortable than the score line suggested. Great battling in midfield and a great defensive showing laid the foundations for some excellent play going forward. Man of the match was Fin Ashton for a great display in defence. Well done Panthers

U12 Panthers

Under 12 Panthers won 3-1 today away to Winsor Green in our cup quarter final.

The boys started brilliantly and too a deserved 2 nil leading the first 15 mins with a goal from Isaac and a Sam Warner penalty that was won through great work from Isaac.

Winsor pulled a goal back but we quickly went back up the other end to restore our 3 goal lead through Sam White pressing the defence from a goal keep nicking the ball and slotting the ball home.

The 2nd half was goalless and at times a bit nervous for those of us coaching and I'm sure the parents watching.

Some great performances today and MOTM went to Zach who was a driving force in the midfield and pur in some crunching tackles.

Well done boys now to look forward to the Semi finals

U14 Knights

U14 Knights were unlucky to lose 1-0 away against Hamble Spitfires conceding with the last kick of the game. Very unlucky as didn't deserve to be on the losing side due to the hard work each and every player put in. No subs and the physicality of the game meant the boys had to dig in and work their socks off for 70 minutes. Brilliant performance.

MOM, again could have gone to everybody today, but just for his constant battling, strength and determination Brad has my vote. Boys have been superb this season in a very tough league and all should be proud of what they have achieved.

U15 Spitfires

Spitfires ended their season on the losing end against Littleton Reds, 5-2. In a game I thought we were the better team it was frustrating we lost but never took our chances whereas our opponents did. Braydon Morgan pulled off some great saves throughout and special mentions to Cameron Houston and Joe Webb who were brilliant today. Both our goals were assisted by Tristan Sparkman with the 1st being swept home by our captain Owen Leece after some great play. The 2nd goal was a little more easier for Ollie Payne who bundled home from 2 yards. Chance came and went but just couldn’t get back in it. Well played boys in a difficult season. POM went to Owen Leece who enjoyed his new role in midfield.

U16 Galaxy

Galaxy's good run of form continued this afternoon with another 2-0 victory this afternoon against visitors Sholing White.

The defence again played very well as a unit but the purps were unable to break the opposition down until 2 breakaway goals in quick succession both scored by in-form striker Davi De Paula.

Keiran Kandiah picks up the mom award forward today with yet another fine display

U16 Panthers

With two games left of the season U16 panthers turn their attention to Compton in the league. With the sun shining, on a warm Sunday morning panthers put on a show for the crowed coming out 7-0 winners. It was a solid team performance From back to front, every player showed their class today with some great football being played.
