Sunday Round Up
U7 Panthers
Well done today guys . That was a really hard game. Hursley Youth U8 were a very good team that likes to attack, so we knew we had to be at our best. I thought you battled brilliantly and passed the ball well. Jacob was outstanding in goal, especially his rushing out and brave diving at the feet.
Morgan defended brilliantly, with some important tackles and the occasional driving forward. Evan and Edison were excellent in midfield, tackling, passing and shooting. Harley was all over the place today and was a menace going forward. With a moment of magic. Matthew and Seth as always worked their socks off up front, holding the ball up and shooting. Both managing to get a magic moment each.
But my man of the match went to Caleb, he’s getting braver on the ball and tackling. He might not get it right every time, but I love the way he’s trying, which I encourage and that’s how he will learn and become a very good defender.
Well done Caleb, well done all
of you today.
U8 Panthers
Exciting early morning game against Warsash Wasps U9 Yellow. We were blessed with the sun which makes a lovely change from the recent wet and windy weather. The Panther U8 boys were full of energy and this showed with their strength and enthusiasm all over the pitch. Passing was on point and when the ball was lost their recovery was brilliant. We were down goalies today so Vinnie volunteered and stood up to the challenge and what a cracking job he did! The players up front really utilised each other well, using skills to beat players which created opportunities. We had some solid players in defence which ended with Logan gaining Player of the Match for his strength, speed and passing decisions. Goals today came from Hayden, a great team goal which finished with a tap in from Fred and a final goal from Jack. Well done boys!
U9 Panthers
A great game against a very good AFC Stoneham Thunder team. I thought from the 1st min to the last the boys give it their all. We knew they were a good team, and that we would have to match them for energy. We gave them no time on the ball and tackled well. You worked as a team and are starting to trust each other. Some of the movement and passing was excellent today. Man of the match went to Henry, my ‘Midfield General’ I think that’s the best game I’ve seen him play. He was everywhere today, breaking up play, passing and getting 3 magical moments. Well done Henry. Well done all of you. Special mention to Jenson with his 3 magical moments and Jake with 1 magic moment.
So proud of you all today.
U9 Spitfires
U9 Spitfires played Littleton Avalanche and were excellent all over the pitch. The passing was quick and intelligent and every player contributed to the result today.
Henry Polkinghorne got us up and running following in a shot from Mazen for a deserved lead. Boys continued to dominate and Brody Hibberd looped a superb free kick over their keeper.
Littleton battled hard and got back in it with a free kick of their own before Brody Hibberd finished top bins to wrap up an excellent performance.
POM could of gone to anyone of the boys today but went to William Comper who was full of energy, breaking up attacks and also involved in a lot of good things going forward.
U15 Knights
U15 Knights lost 4-0 against Eastleigh Tornadoes this evening in the Hampshire Cup.
After a good start we were then responsible for giving away 3 goals in the first half that we could've avoided. The boys responded well to the half time talk and came out a much better side. Brandon was unlucky with his goal due to being offside, a shame as could have changed things and got us back into the game. Boys played some great football but were unable to find the net. A 2nd half penalty provided Tornadoes with the only other goal.
MOM goes to Oliver who played out of his skin. Kept their no8 quiet and battled and battled to the very end. Another superb captains performance.
U16 Spitfires
U16 Spitfires played on the Stadia against Littleton Reds in an excellent game of football by both sides but unfortunately lost 4-2.
We found ourselves behind following a free kick just outside the box but then super sub Kai Arme on the pitch for less than a minute poked home from a yard.
2nd half we started well but went behind again which I felt was against the run of play. A tactical change of putting POM Sam Lawrie upfront paid off when he broke clear to slot home to the level the game but then we went behind almost straight away.
The boys pushed hard for an equaliser but then conceded again which I felt was harsh on the boys as never deserved to lose.
Well done guys !
