AFC Stoneham travel to Laverstock & Ford for their 12th Wessex Premier division game of the season on Saturday 19th November.
Laverstock& Ford:
The newly promoted side are enjoying a steady start to their first season back in the Premier division since the 2011/12 season after play-off success last year.
They are unbeaten in their last four league games and currently sit 14th in the league, 13 points behind Saturday’s opponents.
However, they crashed out of the Wessex league cup midweek after suffering a 4-0 loss to fellow Premier Division side Shaftesbury, so they will be hoping to find their form again on Saturday.
Laverstock’s top goal scorer Archie Lovegrove will be looking to add to his 8 league goals but will face one of the best defences in the league with AFC Stoneham only conceding 9 league goals this season.
AFC Stoneham:
AFC Stoneham come into this game unbeaten in seven Premier Division matches and currently sit 4th in the table with games in hand on those above them.
Their most recent game came in the Russell Cotes Cup on Tuesday where they won 4-1 at home to Fleet town, securing their place in the next round.
Goals from Hills, Evan, Callaghan, and Martins helped the Purps seal the victory, which included an impressive display from 16-year-old Joel McNulty on his first start for the team.
In the league, AFC Stoneham are the fifth highest scorers netting 27 goals, with a third of them coming from forward Duarte Martins.
A victory could see the Purps climb into third place and leapfrog Horndean after playing the same number of games, whilst still having matches in hand on the top two teams.
Last two meetings:
30/03/2019 Laverstock& Ford 2-5 AFC Stoneham (Division 1)
26/03/2019 AFC Stoneham 3-0 Laverstock& Ford (Division 1)
