Sunday Round Up

U7 Panthers

Panthers U7 Report

Great game today boys.

The passing in the last 2qtrs was excellent and the boys battled so well.

Jacob again was excellent in goal with some brave diving.

Morgan and Caleb was superb at the back defending and tackling when needed.

Evan and Harley was brilliant in midfield up and down with some great shooting with both Harley and Evan having 2 magical moments each.

Matthew lead the line well with some importing tackles and also grabbing himself 2 magic moments. But my man of the match went to Seth, his strength, energy and passing today was excellent and also managed to get himself a magical moment. Well done Seth. Well done all of you today.

AFC Stoneham Panthers U8 v AFC Totton U9

We started todays game with a respectful minutes silence. Overall a challenging game against Totten U9s. They were strong and physical. Today, our players were moved positionally with the idea of enhancing their development. This meant that players played in positions that weren't preferred or may come more naturally to them. By the start of Q4 we were level pegging however we struggled to retain that in the last quarter. Today's goals came from Billy and Cooper (penalty). Player of the Match went to Freddie for listening to instructions and getting on with the game and the positions he was allocated.

U8 Jaguars

Another great performance from the boys for U8 jaguars today. A good Wyvern team.

Jio, Preston and Freddie were our goal scorers.

Always hard to pick a player of the day as they all did really well, but today it went to Jio. He played in defense, midfield and up front over the course of the match, doing well in all of them.

Go Jaguars!

U9 Panthers

Panthers U9 Report

Unlucky today boys. Result could have gone either way. The boys battled as a team and never gave up. The passing and movement was great to watch, and they worked together as a team. Just didn’t go our way in the final 3rd and their keeper pulled off some incredible saves to keep them in front. Man of the match went to Oliver. His tackling and energy was great and never stopped running. Well done Oliver, well done all of you for not giving up.

U11 Wolves

U11 Wolves v Wyvern Saints 13/11/2022

This was one of those"blood, sweat and tears on a heavy pitch" games, but it produced many learning points for the boys and everyone went away very happy!

The Wolves are now stronger thinkers! Attackers were shooting straight at their goalkeeper until better decision making produced more placed shots with much better results, central midfielders with options to play the ball wide, pass forwards or go it alone are learning from having to make those decisions, and full backs Jude and Dylan always chose their moments well to support an attack.

Wolf of the Week Muhammed played in four different positions today. He was faultless in defence, supportive in both wide midfield positions and also effective in attack.

Special mentions also to Anderson for his distribution, Dash and Evan for their determination, Frankie for his amazing work rate, Alfie for his intelligent play in central defence and also to Rayane and Adam who were both unwell but showed great resolve in playing through to the end.

U11 Spitfires

A convincing scoreline today for the Under 11 Spitfires against an Andover side who should be commended for some of the football they played, and continued to play despite losing. The first goal for Stoneham came from a great finish by Ethan, who scored a second in the last quarter. Goals also came from Zach, Charlie x2, Bushy , and an og. James (MoM) delivered a captain style performance with some great tackles, passing out from the back and his leadership.

U11 Jaguars

Eastleigh in the community FC v AFC Stoneham U11 Jaguars

Before kick-off all players and managers observed a minutes silence and paid their respects on a sunny remembrance Sunday.

Both teams had chances in the 1st quarter, Jags keeper Riley making some great blocks.

The Jags took the lead thanks to a free kick launched forward from Charlie enabling Wezi to run through and score.

The 2nd quarter saw an early goal from Eastleigh to level the scores.

The Jags continued to press with a shot from Egit and brilliant play from wingers Sammy and Will.

Keeper Riley came up with yet more important saves to ensure the quarter finished 1-1.

In the 3rd Quarter the game swung Eastleighs way as they added 2 more goals.

Chances came and went for the Jags, the Eastleigh keeper making great saves to deny Egit on multiple occasions.

A through ball from Jacob would set up a second goal for Wezi to pull 1 goal back.

The final quarter saw 6 goals as the game went away from the Jags.

Wezi added a 3rd and 4th to his tally but it wasn't enough as the Jags lost 6-4.

Parents player of the week goes to Riley who once again made some great saves, quick off his line and distributed the ball well.

Coachs player of the week this week is Wezi who was always a threat upfront and scoring 4 great goals
