Saturday Round Up
Girls teams
U8 Girls
Girls really had a battle today but the smiles on their faces say it all about the kind of team they are
The girls are playing up a year but I’m proud the girls kept playing their football still, kept trying to find the passes and stuck to their game plan!
Suzy - Excellent performance from our step in goal keeper, with the odd rush goalkeeper tackle just to remind us why she’s such a good defender.
Eliza - battled all game as we’ve come to expect and did some great driving runs through the middle. Also had no issue when I asked her to have a go in goal. Great team player!
Scarlett - see last nights Georgia Stanway performance for England. Well. The U8 version .
Indulge me with a proud mum moment for a second, she was shattered last qtr with a hurt leg but she still went back on and had another go and I’m proper proud of her for that.
Jasmine- some excellent running down the sidelines, but what impressed me most was the tackles Jaz put in. It’s something we’re working on and it was great seeing her steal the ball back in a couple of one on ones. Also scored a lovely first goal
Ellie- incredibly proud that she gave it a go in the last quarter. She was really nervous on the sidelines and didn’t want to come on, but proud that she got over her feelings and came on and gave it a go.
Abbie- really needs to stop scoring goals from impossible angles . Worked so hard the whole match, and the way she chased in the last few moments and pushed the girls on, was great to see.
Well done girls, really proud of your battling performance
U10 Girls Pumas
The newly formed girls U10 Pumas took their 2nd away trip, this time to Gosport Borough Bluebells. Seeking their first goals as a side, they got off to a bright start, with Abi and Sarah making positive runs on the wings, and Mia and Daisy working well to get us forward in the middle. Despite all the positive play Gosport took a first quarter 2-0 lead, and that's how it stayed thanks to strong defending from Ella and Emily, and safe hands from Skylilly in goal.
The 2nd and 3rd quarters saw more great attacking from the girls, this time with Zoe and Emily in midfield with Mia. Naya and Kamillah came on in defence and were absolute rocks limiting Gosport to longe range efforts, but despite that we saw Gosport hit a fluke and then an unstoppable long range drive to make it 4.
The girls didnt give up, and showed their character and spirit in the last quarter and they started bombarding the Gosport goal. With 5 or so minutes left it finally came, a driving run and shot from Mia saw the keeper beaten, and our first goal as a pumas side. All to the loud and excited cheer of the team, the parents and the coaches. The girls were fired now and wanted more, and less than 2 minutes later another run and shot from Mia saw her and the teams 2nd. The last few minutes were played out hunting for thay 3rd but sadly it wasn't to be.
Final score GBYFC Bluebells 4 - 2 AFC Stoneham Pumas and a fantastic performance from all of the girls in only their 3rd ever match
U10 Girls Panthers
Another great away win at Down Grange for the Panthers today, saw them scoring 9. Alisha picked up 4 for the second league game in a row with Grace scoring her first hat trick for the club. Singles for Ngoneh and the ever dependable Imogen completed the scoring. With the midfield competing well and a strong defensive display, Ramona still had to pull off a couple of good saves. Week 4 of our journey and another great team display. Panther of the Week; Freya for bossing the defence. Opposition player went to Grace who ran them ragged.

U11 Girls Panthers
Whiteley Wanderers Youth U11
AFC Stoneham Panthers U11
The Panthers good form continued against a team who were in the top division last season.
An early Jess H penalty gave the Panthers the lead before she doubled the score with a curling effort from outside the box. Georgia made it three when one-on-one with the keeper before Jess P scored with a nice effort. Jess H secured a hat trick just after half time and then added a fourth. Jess P completed the scoring for the Panthers.
Whiteley scored a consolation late on.
It was an excellent performance from the Panthers - probably their best since the team started last season.

U14 Girls
Away to Netley Royals a team we lost 0-1 to a few weeks ago….
First half we started really well, and hit the front after 15 mins, a nice through ball from Cherice found Lillie Banks who shot perfectly into the bottom corner for 1-0. Netley came back into the game late in the first half and found a goal, bouncing off the post, hitting our GK and going in the net.
HT 1-1.
Soon into the second half we conceded again, the ball going through our GK hands and over the line for 1-2.
The effort and determination the girls then showed to try and get back into the game was so great to see. So much hard work and desire to work together. We had a couple of chances to equalise but couldn’t get the goal we deserved.
A tough one to take for the girls. No way did we deserve to lose today. I feel really gutted for them.
Netley Royals 2-1 AFC Stoneham
U18 Girls JPL
AFC Stoneham 3
Mia 2 Dakota
Watford 2
Fantastic performance today!! Huge congratulations to all the girls and coaches on a very impressive win against Watford.
More importantly we had incredible feedback from the opposition, regarding players, coaches and parents! And how welcomed they felt at Stoneham lane (and impressive facilities!!!). And what fantastic football the girls played!! This is a huge compliment!!
Well done to everyone, real credit to the club
U18 Girls Pumas
Puma’s v Moneyfields
League: Home
Today was always going to be a tough test and it was. The first half was a very even affair with Moneyfields being very physical and determined as we expected, the girls didn’t play as they can and went behind to a freak goal when the ball was launched into the area from the right hand side in hope after a scramble and luckily for Moneyfields it flew over the helpless Imani and into our net. But as this team do they didn’t let their heads drop and nearly equalised before halftime when Ella burst through and hit a great strike only to see it cannon back off the bar. H/T 0-1
During the break the girls were honest and agreed they could do more and went out determined to give 100% and set the record straight, we made a few changes which are easy with such a great squad and within a few minutes those changes worked, Skyla played the ball to Poppy who was making her debut after coming on at h/t who beat her player a slipped a lovely ball to Meredith who we’d pushed upfront, Meredith then burst past the last defender and slipped the ball past the keeper at her near post with a very clever finish. The girls continued to press and dominate with Lucy & Jodie taking control in the middle, after a lot of pressure we were awarded a penalty for a clear handball which Jodie steeped up and expertly finished just like the previous week. Not settling for this the girls didn’t let up and Meredith latched onto a mistake by a defender and nipped round her before firing the ball past the keeper high into the net, the girls were in total control and not long after the excellent poppy was put through by summer and she cut inside her defender and then calmly slotted the ball around the advancing keeper, the game was then delayed for sometime with Jodie sustaining a nasty blow to the head( good news as I write this is she has had the all clear from the hospital and home and on the mend). The girls didn’t let it affect them and sealed the win with Meredith running on to a great ball from Eleanor and capping a player of the match performance with another excellent finish into the far corner giving the keeper no chance. The 2nd half was a real statement performance and just shows how strong this group of girls mindset is and how close knit they are as a unit, if they continue like this it could be a very exciting season.
Final Score 5-1
POTM: Meredith
All the girls played their part but special mentions to Poppy for an instant impact and great debut and Lucy for really getting a grip in the middle when she moved their at h/t.
Well done to all of our girls teams who played in some superb games yesterday !
